CMNS 326 Group Project

Updated: Mar 1

Video Assignment 2 Ideas

For Communication 326 video assignment 2, together my group and I decided to discuss Covid-19 in the news media, specifically the Covid-19 news from the beginning that was reported in various news media.

Introduction

Our group project video will be about the COVID-19 Wuhan Lockdown and how the Western media versus the Chinese media showed this situation in the news. The different perspectives of the journalists are shown in these news articles. Some news media and journalists are blaming the Chinese government while most view this as a global problem. There are many different perspectives to every story, and how the Covid-19 topic went from a health crisis to something that caused global tensions around the world (WHO, 2023). Our group will hold interview talk shows discussing the different perspectives of the journalists and voicing our own opinions and experiences.

Reason for choosing this topic

We wanted to let everyone be more aware of this situation and understand that there are different perspectives out there in the journalism field. Also, Covid-19 should always be viewed as a global health problem or health crisis, and shouldn't be viewed as a subject of political tensions around the world (WHO, 2023).
